The
purpose of the PPO Scholarship committee is to assist the
Professional Photographers of Oklahoma in raising funds for
educational purposes and to provide scholarship opportunities for
it.
Funds will be raised in two types of accounts, the General
Scholarship fund and the Memorial Fund (Nelson-Helt Memorial
Fund).
General Scholarship Fund moneys will be gathered by fund raising
events and direct donations to the fund. The General
Scholarship Fund will provide additional scholarships to be given
out at the conventions on a regular basis and as deemed appropriate
by the Scholarship committee when a need arises.
The Memorial Funds will provide a place for people who desire to
honor someone by making a donation in their name. This fund
will provide a scholarship (up to $500) for the highest score for a
first time print case entry.

Scholarships will be given from the General
Scholarship fund at the fall convention and the spring
seminar.
One scholarship will be given from the Memorial Fund at each print
competition.
Other scholarships may be given as needed or funding allows.
In the event a special need arises, the Scholarship committee will
be open to granting additional scholarships. These special
scholarships will be based on financial need and will be
individually considered. No money will ever be granted for
personal or non-educational use.
Fall
Convention
The
Memorial Fund will award a scholarship for the highest scoring
first time print case entry. This will include a certificate
and a scholarship for a PPA affiliated school worth up to
$500.00.
The General Fund will award three scholarships in 2011; a $500.00
for a PPA affiliated school, a $399.00 for the PPO School and a PPO
Pre-registration refund to the winner of the scholarship
contest.
